LISA EVANS- SPEAKING SAVVY
Hi, I am Lisa Evans founder of Speaking Savvy. I have many years of experience working in government, not for profit and the private sector.
For the past 2 years I have been running my own business whilst working part time as a Project Lead for the WA Country Health Service in the area of Aboriginal Health Improvement.
My background is in healthcare. I trained in London as a nurse and midwife and then went on to specialise in neonatal intensive care. I have worked in leading tertiary hospitals both in the UK and Australia. I migrated to Australia 26 years ago.
For many years I juggled part time work whilst being a mum to 3 daughters. I also worked in hospital management, aged care facility management and in project management roles.
In 2009 I had a life changing illness which meant I could no longer work in the neonatal intensive care unit. I returned to uni and completed a Masters in Business Administration and moved into a government job in a health related role.
I started my journey of public speaking 6 years ago when I needed to boost my self esteem and self confidence following a challenging period in my life.
In the past 6 years I have gone from being a shy and reluctant speaker to an award winning speaker and a Certified World Class Speaker Coach. Following a milestone birthday I decided to fully embrace a “do what you love” approach and that is when i founded Speaking Savvy.
As a public speaking coach i teach people to use their voice as a powerful tool to share messages and stories that create change.
